One of the deadliest floods that ravaged Kerala in 2018 left massive destruction affecting people’s livelihoods and homes. Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, promised 250 homes for the flood survivors to the Chief Minister of Kerala. Today, Aster Volunteers has delivered more than what was promised, a total of 255 homes.
Aster Homes is a testament to the fact everything in this world can be rebuilt, be it lives or homes if one does it with enough love and compassion. After the disastrous Kerala floods in 2018, thousands of families became roofless, losing their homes and everything they once had. Dr. Azad Moopen, chairman of Aster DM Healthcare came forward with a support mission in September 2018 to build 250 homes for flood-affected families. On March 1st, 2020, the key handover ceremony of the 100 built homes was led by the Chief Minister of Kerala. Just four years after the launch, Aster Volunteers fulfilled the mission by constructing 255 homes. The completion was declared by the honorable governor of Kerala in Trivandrum in August 2022. Delivering 5 homes more than what was promised, Aster Homes now stands as a symbol of hope and Humanity.

Initiated the Aster Homes project at Chellanam coastal belt for the victims of cyclone Tauktae by laying the Foundation stone for the first 3 houses out of a total of 10 houses planned. The ceremony was done by well known Malayalam Cine Actor Tovino Thomas. The function was graced by Sri. Hibi Eden MP, Panchayath President, Aster Medcity COO Smt.
